Koch-Johnson is arguably one of the most accomplished student-athletes, regardless of sport, in Great Midwest history. Her cross country and track and field exploits have been well documented, both at the conference, regional and national levels.

After missing 2017-18 and the cross country 2018 campaign due to injury, she is back on the track following her rehabilitation process.

The Yellow Jackets competed at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Mich., as Koch-Johnson ran her trademark 800-meter distance and was part of the 4x400-meter relay.

She clocked a 2:08.93 in the 800, the fourth-best time in Great Midwest history, behind only herself during the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Championships and the Joe Banks Invitational in 2017 during her junior season.

In the 4x4 relay, she was part of the second-fastest time in conference history along with Olivia Hoffman (last week’s track athlete of the week), Sarah Hoffman and Lynsey Smith.
