Torres tuned up for the conference championship with a first-place performance at the Cav Classic in Canton at Glenmoor Country Club.
The junior helped the Oilers to a team title and are heavy favorites to repeat for another conference team title later this week. Torres posted a strong score of 148 (71-77) to finish 4-over par for the tourney.
Torres was one of three Oilers to place in the top of the Walsh-hosted event with league schools Alderson Broaddus and Trevecca Nazarene also in the field.
Torres continues to lead the league in scoring average for a second consecutive season. She is now at 75.14 through 21 rounds of play and has five top-10 finishes, including medalist honors in two different events.
This is her sixth career conference weekly honor in less than two seasons. The reigning Great Midwest Player of the Year qualified for the NCAA Championships last season.
