Barnuevo has played whatever position head coach Doug Linden has requested, seeing time at No. 1, 2 and 3, singles at some point in his sophomore season.
The Oilers improved to 7-4 on the season after defeating 2018 conference championship finalist Walsh at home by a final count of 5-2.
Barnuevo excelled in singles and doubles, contributing to the cause with wins in each matchup.
Barnuevo improved to 6-5 in singles this year with a three-set win over Filipp Kulynych, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. He also worked with two-time conference athlete of the week Tomas Kmetko for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
The tandem of Kmetko and Barnuevo has worked well to the tune of a 6-2 record in doubles this spring.
