Cutting and the Dragons started the first leg of their spring break trip facing a handful of non-conference opponents in scenic Hilton Head, S.C.
The senior had an impressive showing as Tiffin played Lake Superior State, Lenoir-Rhyne and Warner, over the past week.
Cutting was unbeaten in singles at 3-0 and nearly pulled off the same mark in doubles, going 2-1 with the loss as close as it gets by a 7-6 score.
Cutting won in straight sets as Tiffin downed LSSU, 6-1. He beat Diego Penz in the No. 5 singles contest, 6-4, 6-4. In the win against Warner, he moved up to No. 4 in the singles rotation to beat Filipe Gil, 7-6, 6-3.
Cutting then accounted for the lone team point scored against Lenoir-Rhyne with a three-set victory over Shane O’Dea, 5-7, 7-5, 11-9.
Cutting played all three doubles contests at the No. 1 position with Nikita Parfenov. Together, they beat their opponents from LSSU and Warner.
