In another one-goal outcome, this time in Lake Erie’s favor, the Storm prevailed over Charleston by a 12-11 score.
Heffron was a key contributor on both sides of the field, covering a lot of ground after star attack Anna Spin received her second yellow card in the first half.
At the time, the defending Great Midwest champion Storm trailed 5-3. But LEC responded with four unanswered goals to tie and pull out a victory with little time left in regulation.
Heffron was credited with four draw controls, two caused turnovers and collected two ground balls, while also scoring the game-winning goal with one second left on the clock.
Heffron was the 2018 Great Midwest Freshman of the Year. She has five goals in two games so far for the Storm.
