Incrementally, Berry has been working her way to the top of the record books in shot put. At the Kent State Tune-Up the freshman thrower made a statement.
Berry broke the conference shot put record and established herself as an automatic qualifier for the DII Championships in Pittsburg, Kan.
Her sixth and final attempt was the best one at the meet, as she recorded a distance of 15.64m (51’ 3.75”). She now ranks fifth in Division II going into this week’s conference championship.
Like Holbrook, Berry is a two-time selection as the women’s field athlete of the week this season.
