As the third different Cedarville student-athlete (Grant Zawadzki, Brenden Maughmer) to receive athlete of the week recognition, TenHove has been a catalyst for the Yellow Jackets’ surge towards the top of the conference standings.

The sweet-shooting sophomore averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and a pair of steals per game as the Yellow Jackets beat defending conference tourney champ Ohio Dominican and Ohio Valley.

At 6-7, 200, TenHove presents a major matchup problem for opponents. He shared the team lead in scoring against ODU with Maughmer (14 points) while pacing his squad with 25 on Ohio Valley.

TenHove had a streak of consecutive made free throws end at 38 over the past week, nearly breaking the school record of 45. He has missed just two shots at the charity stripe all season and is shooting over 96 percent (49-of-51).

With a few more attempts at the line, TenHove would be the NCAA DII national staistics leader in free throw percentage. The current leader with 2.5 made per game is Mars Hill’s Ja’Shawn Brooks (93.3).

TenHove has two 30+ games of scoring this year, including a season-high 32 vs. Malone and 31 against Truman State.

His stat line has seen a noticeable uptick since conference play began with a team-leading average of 18.2 ppg. He is shooting almost 54 percent from the field (close to 50 percent from long range) and is pulling down over 7 rebounds in league play.
