In an event that has been dominated in recent history for national champ Janelle Perry of Ursuline and NCAA qualifier Milani Glass of Findlay, Johansson put herself among the elite in the 60-meter dash.
Johansson and the Chargers competed at the Findlay Open where the sophomore excelled in both short-sprint attempts.
Her 7.72 was a runner-up placing in the finals and the fifth fastest time in conference history. She also clocked a 7,76 in the prelims.
Johansson previously ran a 7.85 at the GVSU Holiday Open to debut her indoor season.
