Henry starred at the Findlay Open in his first collegiate action, needing only two attempts to not only become the NCAA DII leader, but also the new Great Midwest conference record holder in the shot put.
Henry is a bit of an unknown as a senior from the British Virgin Islands with a massive, hulking frame in the throws cage.
His first attempt in the shot put was enough to crack the previous conference record held by 2018 national champion and teammate Austin Combs. But his second attempt launched 19.44 meters (63’ 9.5”) to set the bar that much higher.
The Great Midwest now boasts four of the top five shot put contestants in Division II with Henry, Tiffin freshman Jabari Bennett, Tiffin sophomore Nikolas Curtiss and 2018 NCAA Champion Austin Combs (Findlay).
Henry, Bennett and Curtiss, have all hurled automatic-qualifying distances this season.
