Carter, one of the league’s top scorers and rebounders, has been at the forefront as a major contributor a hot start to the season by the Cavaliers (5-2, 2-0 Great Midwest).
The freshman swingman averaged 24 points, seven rebounds and three steals per game, all while shooting almost 67 percent from the field.
Walsh convincingly doubled up Ohio Dominican, 78-39, as Carter erupted for a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. She added four steals and dished out three assists in the Walsh conference opener.
Six of Carter’s rebounds were on the offensive glass as she finished out 28 minutes on the floor.
Carter did even more in less court time against Ohio Valley as she produced 27 points in just 20 minutes. She only misfired twice on 14 shot attempts for a near-perfect .857 shooting line (12-14).
At 6-0, Carter is a matchup nightmare and she recorded three more steals and a blocked shot against OVU.
Carter is currently second in the Great Midwest as a first-year student-athlete in scoring (20.3 ppg) and field goal percentage (.545), tied for fourth in rebounding (7.0) and top 10 in free throw percentage.
