Araya kicked off her impressive weekend with a hat trick in Thursday's G-MAC championship semifinal game against No. 4 seed Findlay.
The sophomore first team all-conference performer provided the assist to Jennifer Medina to open the scoring in the seventh minute. Araya added her own goals in the 14th, 47th and 60th minutes, to give the Fighting Scots a 4-0 win.
In Saturday's title game, Araya sank the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute to give Ohio Valley the 1-0 victory and the Great Midwest tournament title for the second consecutive year. During the game, Araya took nine total shots, two of which were on frame.
Araya will go into the national tournament as the Great Midwest league leader in goals (16), tied for third in assists (6) and is tied for second in both game-winning goals (4) and shots (90).
