Himes and the Walsh defense clamped down to hand first-place Ohio Valley its first loss of the season in the league schedule and the first conference defeat dating back to October 25, 2016.
The Cavaliers were one of four teams to officially lock in their playoff hopes over the weekend and currently sport 25 conference points in the standings.
Himes contributed the game-winning shot in a 2-1 victory over the Fighting Scots in the 78th minute.
The Walsh defensive unit successfully game planned around a high-scoring OVU attack, which went into the game averaging almost three goals per contest.
This is Himes’ second career conference weekly defensive honor since Walsh joined the conference in 2017.
