Capek also is coming off a strong week where he provisionally qualified in two different events at the Hillsdale Gina Relays as well.
In the event he didn’t qualify in, the shot put, he still put up a performance that is in the top ten of Great Midwest performers this season. He set a season best with a distance of 14.48 meters. This was good enough for ninth in the G-MAC this season.
He also provisionally qualified and won the event in both the discus and the hammer throw. His distance of 50.42 in the discus ranks second in the Great Midwest this season and 32nd in all of Division II in the event.
He also won the hammer throw with a distance of 59.15 meters that is second in the conference and also the 16th best hammer throw in Division II.
He is also coming off a strong indoor season where he placed sixth in the shot put and fourth in the weight throw at the Great Midwest Indoor Championships.
