Barber is the second Walsh senior to be recognized this week after she competed at the Jesse Owens Track Classic on Saturday. She placed third in her only event of the pole vault behind two Division I competitors.
Barber is also coming off a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in the pole vault for All-American status.
Her height of 3.97 meters set the conference mark for the season and also was the tallest clearance in Great Midwest history.
She has been going back-and-forth with Hillsdale’s Alexandra Whitford breaking the pole vault outdoor conference record this spring.
She is also now tied for fifth in all of Division II in the event with that height clearance.
