No matter how it’s broken down, Farmer was a tough out in 25 plate appearances as Ohio Dominican put together a perfect 8-0 week against four different opponents. Included in those victories was an impressive doubleheader sweep against No. 15 UIndy, a key Midwest Region opponent.
Farmer hit for contact, she hit for power and average, with extra-base knocks coming in bunches to help the Panthers’ offense remain dangerous.
The sophomore corner infielder mashed three home runs, doubled and tripled while hitting almost .500 at the dish with a 12-for-25 line. She also scored eight times and had six RBI batting in the middle of the order.
Farmer has a current hit streak of 12 consecutive games and at least one base hit in all eight contests last week.
She deposited pitches over the fence against Alderson Broaddus, the nationally-ranked Greyhounds and Trevecca in the series finale.
Farmer was 2-for-2 with three RBI and a homer vs. the Trojans. She had two-hit games in both contests against Kentucky Wesleyan and also against AB.
Farmer increased her batting average on the season to .354 in 41 games played and started. She ranks among the top-10 league leaders in hits and runs scored.
