As a senior starter, Miller has been a part of some very memorable postseason runs by the Fighting Scots in recent memory. The lefty-hitting outfielder certainly caught the attention of league observers over the past week with his work at the plate to help OVU rolling in the conference schedule.
Miller slugged three extra-base hits as part of a 7-for-13 week that included five runs and five RBI in three games against Davis & Elkins.
In a 13-9 final favor of OVU to start Friday’s doubleheader, Miller parked his second home run of the season and doubled as part of a 2-for-4 effort with four RBI.
Miller reached in all three plate appearances in game two of the twinbill, scoring twice and walking while going 2-for-2. The Fighting Scots needed both of his runs crossing the plate in a 6-5 win.
He contributed to the series sweep the following day with two more hits and another run driven in to help the Fighting Scots’ offensive cause.
Miller has started 25 of the 27 games he has appeared in this year, primarily in right field. He is batting .253 with 19 hits and 13 runs scored in 75 at-bats.
