Collins is another piece of the puzzle that has helped the Trojans assemble the best record in the Great Midwest heading into the conference schedule.
Collins homered in both TNU contests this past week against Christian Brothers and Maryville as she started to find her power stroke, a swing that has produced 17 home runs in her career to date.
Collins is currently ranked tied for sixth all-time in Great Midwest history with Davis & Elkins’ Danielle Norton and former TNU standout Shelby Andrews.
Collins went 3-for-4 at the plate against the Buccaneers, including a two-run shot in the fifth inning that gave TNU a 7-3 lead.
In an eventual tie against Maryville, Collins also left the yard with a three-run blast launched in the fifth frame. Her fourth home run of the spring had the Trojans out in front before darkness would officially suspend the contest.
In 19 games, Collins is now hitting .370 at the plate with seven doubles, four home runs and 22 RBI.
