Findlay junior 197-pounder Armani Robinson (Jamestown, OH/Greenview HS/Iowa Central) was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Wrestling Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
The 18th-ranked Oilers tangled with No. 4 Ashland in Croy Gymnasium last week as Robinson recorded a major upset at his weight class.
Robinson took down Luke Cramer from the unbeaten ranks, derailing a 17-0 start to the season for the Ashland grappler, for a key 3-2 decision in the Oilers’ team win.
Cramer is ranked No. 1 in his weight class nationally.
Findlay won the match by a score of 23-18 as two-time Great Midwest Athlete of the Week Bradley Metz (184) also delivered bonus points with a technical fall in his bout.
