The 2012-13 season concluded with the inaugural G-MAC Men’s Golf Championship hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University. The Trojans took the title with a final round 320 for a 54-hole, two-day total of 920, topping Cedarville (946) and Urbana (994).
Individually, junior Stephen Williams captured medalist honors by leading the tournament from start to finish. Williams fired a tournament-low round of 69 in the first round, and followed that up with a second round low of 72 on a 36-hole day one of the Conference Tournament.
Williams wrapped up Medalist honors with a third round total of 78 on day two to finish with a 54-hole score of 219. He held off a charge from his teammate Tyler Phillips who finished just three strokes back at 222 after he shot a low third round of 75.
Williams has now been named the G-MAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Month in March and April after Cedarville's Jacob Forsythe was named Golf Athlete of the Month both months in the fall as the pair split the four monthly awards in 2012-13.
