Michalski broke his own conference record in the mile at the Akron Invitational with a provisional-qualifying time of 4:04.66.
He broke his previous record of 4:05.60 set last year at the Grand Valley State Big Meet and now possesses eight of the all-time top-10 marks in the event in conference history, including the championship record.
Michalski currently ranks 10th across NCAA Division II in the event. There are six auto qualifiers in the mile and 38 different provisional marks recorded.
Michalski is coming off a strong cross country season where he earned Great Midwest Runner of the Year honors. Between the sport of cross country and the indoor/outdoor track and field seasons, his career count of weekly conference honors is now up to 14 awards.
