Houghton marks the fifth time Hillsdale has taken home the Women’s Athlete of the Week for Swimming & Diving this season.
The junior swam in two different meets this past weekend taking home four different first place finishes.
She kicked off the weekend Friday with the Chargers hosting Indiana Wesleyan University. Her first event was the 1650 Yard Freestyle with her taking home first place with a time of 18:46.66, finishing almost 30 seconds ahead of second place. That time was the ninth fastest in the conference this season.
She continued that meet with a win in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:01.87.
The next day Hillsdale again played host to Ohio Northern University and Case Western Reserve University, with Houghton taking home two first places in that meet as well.
Her first win came as a member of the 400 Yard Medley Relay alongside Katherine Heeres, Anika Ellingson, and Mary Vita with a finishing time of 4:03.32.
She scored her fourth and final victory of the weekend in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a finishing time 2:13.15.
