INDIANAPOLIS – Cedarville senior guard Patrick Bain (Tipp City, OH / Bethel HS) netted Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week honors on Monday morning as announced by the league.
This is the second career conference weekly honor for Bain, who helped the Yellow Jackets (8-6, 3-4 G-MAC) collect two road Great Midwest victories at Malone and Ohio Dominican.
Bain continues to climb through the conference career scoring leaders, passing D&E’s Wesley Sprinkle to move into sixth all-time. Bain now has 1,147 points in his career since 2014 and additionally ranks fourth in field goals made with 423.
The Yellow Jackets rode a pair of 30+ outbursts as Bain erupted for a career-high 35 points at Ohio Dominican and freshman forward Conner TenHove blew up for 30 against Malone on 13-of-18 shooting.
In the two Cedarville wins, Bain shot almost 55 percent from the floor while averaging 23.5 points, 7 assists, 5.5 rebounds and even two blocks, per game.
He contributed 12 points, seven assists, five rebounds and three rejections vs. Malone before his personal-best scoring output at ODU on 13-of-22 shooting with four three pointers. He also had seven more assists in a 75-68 final.
Bain is now second in the league in scoring (20.9 ppg) only behind Malone’s Ty Jordan (21.1 ppg). He ranks fifth in field goal percentage (.509) and is seventh in assists.
