Bill Ek will assume the role of Supervisor of Men's Basketball Officials for the 2012-13 season and provide the conference supervision of the league's men's basketball officials, including hiring, assigning, training and evaluation.
Ek will add the G-MAC to an impressive stable of regional conferences he currently assigns for which includes the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NCAA Division II), Ohio Athletic Conference (NCAA Division III), Presidents Athletic Cofnerence (NCAA Divisino III), Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NCAA Division III), American Mideast Conference (NAIA) and Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (NAIA).
He has worked as a NCAA men's basketball official since 1987 and currently officiates in teh Big Ten Conference, the Mid-American Conference and Summit League. Ek has served as a clinician in over 40 camps, has officiated numerous conference tournament contests and was tabbed as a NCAA Division I tournament official in 2011.
A 1988 graduate of Kent State University, Ek was an Executive Board Member of the Greater Akron Officials Association from 1994-2000 and worked five Ohio High School Championships as an OHSAA Registered Official in 1982-2007.
