The Great Midwest has announced the launch of a new sports podcast, Talkin’ G-MAC hosted by Katie Gilhooly. The podcast, distributed by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, will be found in video form on the Great Midwest Digital Network and in audio form wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.
 
In an effort to shine a light on the conference and its 13 member institutions, Talkin’ G-MAC will feature a range of content including interviews with current and former student-athletes and coaches to headlines and highlights from around the league.
 
“With a background in sports media, I noticed immediately after joining the G-MAC staff, the lack of coverage that Division II athletic programs were receiving and wanted to do something to narrow that gap in our footprint,” said Katie Gilhooly, Director of Digital Media and Communications at the Great Midwest and Host of the Talkin’ G-MAC Podcast. “I know our conference and the 13 schools that compete as part of the Great Midwest are filled with stories that need to be told.” Gilhooly, a former sports anchor and reporter, joined the Great Midwest staff in 2021 and has been working behind the scenes to create the Talkin’ G-MAC Podcast ever since. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the effort to celebrate the student-athletes, coaches and administrators that make our conference so great.”

She is an outstanding storyteller and a terrific ambassador for our student-athletes."

The Talkin’ G-MAC Podcast debuted on Aug. 31, 2023 with Episode 101 featuring an interview with Tom Daeger, Commissioner of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
