With the addition of Malone, the projected 2016-17 G-MAC membership is as follows (as of May 13, 2015):

PREVIOUS EXPANSION: 2012-13 (last updated in July of 2013)

Alderson-Broaddus College, Davis & Elkins College, and Ohio Valley University accepted invitations to partner with the G-MAC. The collaboration
between the G-MAC and these three institutions began in the summer of 2012 and finalized in August, with Alderson-Broaddus, Davis & Elkins,
and Ohio Valley to begin competing in the fall of 2013.

Current members Urbana and UVa-Wise have indicated their intent to depart the conference following their particiaption as full members during
the 2012-13 academic year.

With the additions of four members, the projected 2013-14 G-MAC membership is as follows (as of August 21, 2012):




Eight Active NCAA Division II Institutions: Alderson-Broaddus, Cedarville, Central State, Davis & Elkins, Kentucky Wesleyan, Ohio Valley, Salem
International and Ursuline College (Approved by NCAA in July 2013 following its provisional year)


Reclassifying NCAA Division II Institutions: Trevecca Nazarene (Approved by NCAA in July 2013 to move into final provisional year)

For the G-MAC to move from a NCAA Division II member conference into full active status, the conference must have six active members at the
Division II level and sponsor at least four men's and six women's championships. With the above list of projected members, the G-MAC is on schedule
to become active for 2013-14.

For 140 years, Alderson-Broaddus College has been providing a quality education for its students. Athletically, in 2012 the Alderson-Broaddus Athletic Department increased to 16 sports programs. In 2013, the College will increase that number to 22 intercollegiate sports and five spirit teams, bringing the department to 27 total programs. Alderson-Broaddus continues to prove its commitment to athletics, with the announcement of a multi-purpose stadium - currently under construction.

Ohio Valley University became a member of the NAIA in 1992-93 and began their candidacy with the NCAA Division II membership program in 1999. After the four-year membership process, OVU became a full NCAA Division II institution and joined the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 2002-2003.

Salem International, a private institution and currently an independent NCAA Division II member, was founded as Salem College in 1888. Regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, Salem International enrolls 757 students placing it in the middle of the G-MAC in terms of enrollment.

Salem International University has a tradition of academic excellence and innovation. The beautiful 100-acre campus is nestled in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia. The campus offers student housing and traditional campus clubs and activities.

SIU received its charter from the State of West Virginia in December 1888 and offered its first term of instruction beginning in April 1889. It was founded by members of the local community and the Seventh Day Baptist Church. Salem International University offers Associate, Bachelor and Graduate degrees in high demand fields including: Business, Education, Information Technology and Criminal Justice.

Salem International currently sponsors 11 intercollegiate sports, including men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, bowling, men’s and women’s water polo and men’s and women’s soccer.
