Overview: Great Midwest volleyball programs had solid performances on the courts during the fifth week of the season (September 22 – September 26). Ashland leads the East Division with a 12-2 record, Findlay stays atop the North Division charts at 8-6, and Ohio Dominican stays at a clear lead in the East Division with a 13-2 record. The Eagles, Cavaliers, and Panthers stay undefeated in the conference after five weeks of play.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:

• Northwood went 2-0 this week, sweeping Thomas More 3-0, followed up by a 3-1 win over Kentucky Wesleyan. Leading the way for the Timberwolves was Mackenzie Scheid, picking up 10 kills, five blocks, and seven digs in the game against the Saints, then totaling 12 kills, three service aces, and nine digs against the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan. Scheid earned her first North Division Athlete of the Week honors after posting this strong performance.
• Ashland stays strong in the standings after another flawless weekend of conference play. Picking up sweeps over Lake Erie and Ursuline, the Eagles currently sit at 12-2 overall, 7-0 in the G-MAC.
• Logan Rubel led the way for Ohio Dominican in their 3-1 wins over Tiffin and Cedarville. Rubel picked up her second South Division Athlete of the Week honor of the season after totaling 29 kills and 32 digs, while extending the Panthers’ record to 6-0 in the conference.
• Findlay picked up another two conference wins last week over Cedarville and Tiffin. Senior Hannah Miller continues to lead the Oilers on both sides of the net, posting 16 kills, 14 digs, and two service aces while hitting a season-best .488.
• Junior Maria Montseny led the way for Walsh in their 3-1 win over Lake Erie, while putting up solid numbers in the Cavaliers game against Charleston. Scheid earned her first East Division Play of the Week after totaling 35 kills, with 20 of them being against LEC, four blocks, and six digs for the week.
