Overview:
Great Midwest volleyball programs opened up the 2026 season August 28, competing across the country in a number of non-conference matchups. Teams defeated programs from a variety of conferences, including GLVC, GLIAC, GSC, SIAC, and Mountain East. The G-MAC will gear up for another competitive week beginning Thursday, September 3.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:

• Hillsdale went undefeated this weekend at the Wayne State Warrior Invite. Ellie Fles led the Chargers, averaging 3.73 kills, 3.09 digs, and 0.64 blocks per set, earning her North Division Athlete of the Week.
• Findlay was victorious in their first two games of the season. The Oilers defeated Indiana-Pennsylvania 3-1 in their home opener, followed up by a 3-0 win over California-Pennsylvania at the Findlay Classic.
• Jenna Shedden led Ashland to a 3-0 weekend at the Findlay Classic, earning her tournament MVP honors and East Division Player of the Week. Shedden had at least 12 kills in a match, leading to a thrilling 3-0 upset over Findlay.
• Ohio Dominican went 2-1 on the weekend at the Ray Thrasher Classic. Senior Libero, Lauren Dinunzi led the way for the Panthers with 44 digs in 11 sets, while totaling four service aces.
• Malone picked up two wins at the Hall of Fame City Challenge on opening weekend. After dropping their first game against Edinboro, the Pioneers bounced back to defeat Charleston 2-1 and Roberts Wesleyan 3-0.
• The East Division favorite in Walsh University, went 2-1, including a thrilling reverse sweep of Saginaw Valley. Sabrina Da Silva led the way with a strong defensive performance that included 33 digs.
• Cedarville upset No. 24 UMSL in a five set thriller. The Yellow Jackets hit an impressive .400 as a team to pull off the upset.
