Hillsdale, Mich. - The stage is set at Hillsdale College for yet another memorable Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with 12 institutions ready to compete beginning Wednesday, April 29.
Those taking part in the competition will be chasing more than just personal bests. Athletes will look to improve upon provisional marks and, in some cases, secure a spot at the NCAA Division II Championships. Still, the ultimate goal remains the same across the board—earning a G-MAC title, whether individually or as a team.
The top two finishers in each event will automatically receive All-Conference honors. In addition, the top overall scorer will be named Track and Field Athlete of the Meet, while the highest-scoring freshman will earn Freshman of the Meet recognition. Both honors will be awarded on the men’s and women’s sides.
As teams make the trip north to Hillsdale, the Ashland Eagles enter as the defending outdoor champions after sweeping both the men’s and women’s titles in 2025. Their dominant showing a season ago firmly established them as the team to beat once again.
On the men’s side, several programs will be in the mix to challenge Ashland’s top spot. Tiffin, Hillsdale, Findlay, and Cedarville all turned in strong performances last season and return with the experience and depth to contend.
Momentum from the indoor season could also play a role. Each of these programs delivered impressive performances during the 2025 indoor championships and will look to carry that success into the outdoor campaign.
Nationally, the G-MAC features a pair of ranked men’s teams, with Tiffin checking in at No. 16 and Findlay at No. 25. On the women’s side, Ashland enters ranked No. 17, while Findlay holds the No. 21 spot, highlighting the conference’s strength across both fields.
