OVERVIEW: Great Midwest women’s basketball programs enter the last week of the regular season. So far, Northwood, Malone, Thomas More, and Walsh have clinched spots in the post season tournament.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • The Walsh Cavaliers clinched a spot in the postseason tournament with a 59-41 home win over Ursuline. The Cavaliers jumped to a 4-0 lead to start the game and never looked back. Kiley Dyrlund and Carlota Lopez led the way with 20 points and 13 points apiece. The Cavalier defense forced the arrows to 27 turnovers, with Dyrlund leading the effort with six steals.
  • Northwood clinched the regular season title for the first time in program history. Lea Holmes stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. The win tied the Timberwolves’ school record for wins in a season with 21.
  • The Panthers from Ohio Dominican posted a 2-0 week, beginning the week with a victory over Tiffin.  Jenna Shackleford led ODU with 17 points shooting 4 of 7 from the field. ODU returned home, where they picked up a win against Hillsdale. Shackleford contributed double-digit points again, shooting a perfect five for five from the field. Mackenzie Hurd, Macy Chapman, Meghan Mayotte,and Jazmyn Wheeler each found themselves scoring double-digits. Wheeler came off the bench to add 11 points and eight rebounds.
  • Malone made history Thursday with a home win over Ashland for the first time since the 1986-87 season. Erin Kaufman dropped a career-high 33 points in the victory as the Pioneers finished shooting an impressive 86.7% from the charity stripe. Kaufman’s efforts earned her Player of the Week honors.
