INDIANAPOLIS- We are now down to just four teams in the women’s soccer bracket. As these teams continue their journeys to the G-MAC Championship, we look back at a season of great accomplishments that is recognized with the 2026 all-conference teams and individual awards.
This year's athletes, who were awarded individual awards as well as first- and second-team honors, were voted upon by the coaches who make up the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
Cedarville ended the regular season with zero conference losses and the best record in the G-MAC. A slew of Yellow Jackets were recognized with first- and second-team honors as well as Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Goalkeeper of the year. Coach Jonathan Mede had a league-high of four players who made First-Team All-Conference. One of these players was junior goalkeeper standout Anna Taylor. Not only did Taylor win Goalkeeper of the Year, but she also led the league in goals-against average, save percentage, and total shutouts. Taylor's historic season included an astonishing 17 shutouts, including getting a shutout in all 14 G-MAC games. Senior midfielder Kacy Rosenthal was named the defensive player of the year for helping the Yellow Jackets allow the least number of goals in the G-MAC.
Ashland has won four of the last five G-MAC championships, and now they are looking to earn their third straight title this year. The Eagles were tied with the Yellow Jackets, with six total players making All-Conference teams. Senior defender Adi Turnbaugh earned her third straight first-team nod, and Sofia Devine earned her second.
Last year, Findlay’s Addison Williams won Freshman of the Year and finished with eight total goals, which was the second most in the conference. This year, she earned First-Team All-Conference, scored ten goals, and led the conference in shots, shots on goal, and goals (tied with Josie Gruber and Madelyn Boyd). Senior defender Ashlyn Brown also made a jump this year for the Oilers by making First-Team All-Conference after making second-team last year.
Thomas More’s Josie Gruber won the Offensive Player of the Year honor for the first time in her career. Gruber scored ten goals and three assists this season. Senior Andjela Popovic’s G-MAC dominance was recognized yet again with a second-team All-Conference nod. Popovic won freshman of the year, one first-team, and two second-team All-Conference awards during her career.
Northwood’s Madelyn Boyd was voted the top Freshman in the league after a stellar rookie campaign. Boyd has been a major offensive contributor for the Timberwolves, recording nine goals, ranking fourth in the conference in scoring as of October 29.Her standout performance included a hat trick and an assist in Northwood's 6-3 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan, converting all three of her shots on goal. The hat trick marked the first by a Northwood player since 2021 and the first by a Timberwolves freshman since 2017.
