G-MAC Football: Week 9 Recap

11.2.26

INDIANAPOLIS – Week 9 of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) football slate featured high-stakes matchups across the region, highlighted by top-ranked programs asserting dominance and thrilling conference finishes.

  • Northwood made history by improving to 9-0 for the first time in program history with a gritty 45-42 road victory over Ashland. The Timberwolves built an offensive cushion and withstood a late fourth-quarter touchdown push by the Eagles. A recovery on Ashland’s final onside kick attempt with seconds remaining sealed the historic, undefeated start.

  • The Oilers delivered a complete performance on both sides of the ball to shut out Thomas More, 49-0, on the road. Findlay established control early by scoring in every quarter while racking up a balanced and relentless offensive attack. The defense anchored the victory by suffocating the Saints' offense and pitching their cleanest outing of the season.

  • Hillsdale exploded offensively on the road to secure a commanding 52-21 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan. The Chargers established a 35-0 halftime advantage fueled by a dominant ground attack and precise red-zone execution. The defense generated key sacks and turnovers to keep the game entirely out of reach through the final whistle.

  • Walsh snapped a four-game skid by leaning heavily on its ground game to edge Ohio Dominican, 29-25, in Columbus. The Cavaliers churned out 347 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground to build a decisive multi-score lead. A resilient defensive stand in the final two minutes turned back a furious fourth-quarter Panther rally to lock down the conference win.

  • Lake Erie went on the road and pulled off a physical 21-14 upset victory against Tiffin at Frost-Kalnow Stadium. The Storm defense shifted momentum with a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown just before halftime to tie the contest. Two second-half touchdown passes from Hunter Newell to Devin Morgan proved to be the difference as Lake Erie held off the Dragons late.
