With three regular-season games to go in 2026, Ashland University's women's soccer team is in the No. 20 spot in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, in partnership with the United Soccer Coaches (USC) – released on Tuesday (Oct. 20) afternoon.
The Eagles are 11-2-2 overall and 9-1-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, sitting one point behind first-place Cedarville in the conference table. AU's next game will be at Ferguson Field vs. Kentucky Wesleyan (0-12-3, 0-8-3) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 22). This will be the Eagles' annual bonfire game.
"This time of the year, only a small percentage of teams are making it to their conference championships," noted Ashland head coach
Cayleb Paulino. "From there, the number gets smaller for those going on to the NCAA Tournament. Our job is to continue to put ourselves in the best position when it comes to both of those.
"With quick turnaround in games for us, three games in six days, we need to rely on our roster and experience in order for us to go 3-0. Looking forward to the new challenges this week."
The second set of NCAA Division II women's soccer NCAA Power Index (NPI) regional rankings were released on Monday (Oct. 19) morning, and the Eagles were in the No. 4 slot in the Midwest Region.
As of Monday, Ashland continues to be the D-II team pacesetter in corner kicks per game at 9.20.
