INDIANAPOLIS- Great Midwest wrestling programs competed in several non-conference duals over the weekend.
 
The Tiffin Dragons split the weekend with a loss at No. 10 Glenville State and a win over Fairmont State. Jake Powell went 2-0 for the week with a sudden 4-1 victory over an opponent from Glenville State. He followed that up with a pin in 2:13 against Fairmont State.
 
Ashland, who ranks first in the conference standings, also split the weekend with a 43-2 win over Davenport followed by a criteria loss against McKendree. Peyton Lemon, who is the No. 8 ranked wrestler at 197 lbs. beat his opponent from Davenport 21-6, followed by a 7-4 decision over a McKendree opponent. The Eagles are the highest-ranking team in the conference sitting at No. 9 nationally.
 
The Roughnecks from Findlay upset No. 20 UIndy, with Giulian Bodiu sealing the win. Bodiu pinned his opponent in just 24 seconds to put the Roughnecks ahead. Bodiu’s efforts earned him athlete of the week honors.
