Williams Among Players On 2025-26 Bevo Francis Award Watch List

As announced on Thursday (Jan. 15) afternoon, Ashland University senior forward Maceo Williams is one of 100 small college men's basketball players on the 2025-26 Bevo Francis Award Watch List.
 
The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within small college basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements.
 
In 15 games so far in 2025-26, Williams is averaging 19.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, while making 60.2 percent from the floor. The reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year, he leads the conference so far this season in scoring average and field-goal percentage, and is third in rebounding average.
 
Williams, with 1,645 career points, is 23 points away from tying Kale Richardson (1,668) for fifth place on Ashland's all-time scoring list. He scored 56 points in back-to-back games at home vs. Findlay and at Lake Erie. Williams also has 744 career rebounds, tied with Richardson for fifth place on that AU all-time list.
 
Ashland men's basketball (10-5 overall, 4-3 Great Midwest) will play on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Tiffin (4-10, 0-7).
