CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Cedarville University will welcome nearly 2,600 local elementary students, teachers, and chaperones to campus on Monday, December 1, for the annual Elementary School Day at the Cedarville University men's basketball game.

The Yellow Jackets will tip off against Great Lakes Christian College (Lansing, Michigan) at 11:00 a.m. inside the Callan Athletic Center, creating an energetic, kid-friendly atmosphere that combines basketball excitement with an inspiring campus experience.

Admission is free for all participating students, staff, and chaperones. Eleven area elementary schools have confirmed participation in this year's event, including Arrowwood, Clark Shawnee, Edison, Greenon, Horace Mann, Kemp, Louise Troy, Northwestern, Risen Christ Lutheran, Urbana, and Westwood Elementary.

"Elementary Day is one of our favorite traditions," said Alyssa Beals, director of marketing and sponsorships. "It's a joy to see thousands of young students enjoying Cedarville basketball with their tremendous energy and excitement. It will be a memorable moment for everyone who attends--including our players."

The day features much more than basketball. Students will enjoy lively in-game music, interactive crowd experiences, and a halftime performance by the Troy Pop Rocks, a popular youth jump rope team. Schools are encouraged to bring sack lunches, with tables available for designated groups inside the gym.

In addition to the excitement of game day, Elementary School Day provides a unique opportunity for Cedarville students, faculty, and staff to engage with children from across the region – many of whom are visiting a university campus for the first time.

"This day allows us to show the love of Christ through hospitality and fun," added Beals. "We want every child to leave with a great memory – and perhaps even a new dream for their future."

The event is coordinated by Cedarville University Athletics in partnership with campus security, facilities, and event services.
