MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Ashland University, the preseason favorite, went 1-1 on the weekend and are slotted at No. 12 in the United Soccer Coaches poll. The Eagles went 1-1 on the weekend, including a win over Slippery Rock
- Lake Erie finds themselves at the top of the standings, going 2-0 in the Storm’s opening weekend for the first time since 2019. Leonie Witt and Arielle Fink scored one goal apiece in wins over Edinboro and California University of Pennsylvania. Goalkeeper Morgan Vanmeter recorded a goals-against average of 0.00 through 180:00 minutes of play.
- Findlay’s Ava Ayers, who was named the Offensive Player of the Week, leads the league in goals with three as the Oilers recorded a 1-0-1 opening weekend record.
- Northwood’s Ava Kettler scored the game-winning goal to seal the Timberwolves’ win over cross-town rival Saginaw Valley State. Kettler was awarded Defensive Player of the Week honors for her effort.
- Four different Cavaliers scored in their season-opening win over the University of Charleston. Ramsey Smith had one goal and one assist for the Cavs, while Katie Corrigan, Paityn Marino, and Corinne Casenhiser added one goal apiece.
- Ursuline went wire-to-wire with Clarion before prevailing in a 5-4 victory. Julia Moroz, Dora Peszlen, Sarah Gundler, Briana Reynolds, and Alexis Ivory each scored a goal for the Arrows.
- Mackenzie Borden scored within 90 seconds of Tiffin’s 1-0 victory over Edinboro.
