INDIANAPOLIS—After a conclusive vote from the league’s Faculty Athletic Representatives, Hillsdale’s Charles Woodhams was officially unveiled as the winner of the 2024-25 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award recipient.
The Great Midwest Scholar-Athlete of the Year is traditionally presented on an annual basis for an individual deemed to have completed the most outstanding record in athletics, scholarship, and leadership.
Woodhams, a native of Otsego, MI., is a men’s basketball student-athlete who graduated Summa Cum Laude this past spring with a degree in Biology.
He is a five year member of the Chargers basketball team, and the leading scorer this past season. He leaves Hillsdale a three-time member of the NABC Academic Honors Court, four-time Academic All- G-MAC, three-time D2ADA All-Academic member, and two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree.
On the court, Woodhams was a two year starter for the Chargers and led the team to back-to-back 20-win seasons. He was named first-team all-conference after averaging a team-high 13.7 points per game on 49.1% shooting from the floor and 40.5% shooting from 3-point range.
Woodhams joins Lewis Beals, Joey Brenner, and Victoria Addis as the fourth Charger to win the award.
