Kyle Pottkotter Named Great Midwest Excellence in Officiating Award Recipient

INDIANAPOLIS- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has officially announced Kyle Pottkotter as the inaugural Excellence in Officiating Award recipient. Pottkotter has been officiating women’s basketball for twelve years.
 
The Ohio native officiated the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025 Great Midwest Women’s Basketball Championship games. Pottkotter is also a referee with Division III Ohio Athletic Conference, where he reffed the 2022, 2023, and 2025 championship.
 
“Kyle is by far the highest rated Women's Basketball Official in the G-MAC,” said Great Midwest Official’s assigner Dian Plas. “He has coaching experience and brings that mindset to his officiating when a coach has a question. He holds basketball skills camps in the summer. He knows the rules and understands the game from coaching, playing and officiating perceptions. He is my go to official for any game.”
 
The Great Midwest Excellence in Officiating Award is presented to one male and one female official within the conference. The award is presented by the gender of the official regardless of the sport officiated. Each assigner in the conference put forth one male and one female nominee, followed by a vote by the conference’s Awards Committee.
