COLUMBUS, Ohio- The University of Findlay, specifically Kyle Niermann and Meredith Wipper, were officially honored with the annual Great Midwest Athletic Conference Sports Information Director (SID) Staff of the Year Award as part of the league’s annual support staff meetings conducted on Thursday.
The 2024-25 SID Staff of the Year Award was voted upon by the conference sports information departments, with one vote being cast per institution.
The team of Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs Kyle Niermann and Director of Digital Strategy & Creative Content Meredith Wipper make up the sports information team at Findlay. Niermann has been a staple of Findlay since 2015, serving as the Assistant Director of Media Relations until 2021. Wipper joined the Oilers in 2022 after serving as a Graduate Assistant under Niermann.
"Being named the Sports Information Staff of the Year is an incredible honor, and Meredith and I are deeply humbled to have been selected by our peers," said Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs Kyle Niermann. "We are fortunate to work with exceptional Sports Information Directors across the league, and we hope this award shines a light not only on Findlay but also on the dedicated efforts of communications professionals at every institution in the Great Midwest. Here at UF, we are lucky to have a supportive team of coaches and administrators who champion our efforts in promoting our hard-working student-athletes, and for that, we are truly grateful."
The duo has also assisted the conference tremendously in various areas, serving as the host site for the 2025 Wrestling Championships and providing assistance at neutral-site conference championships like softball and baseball."

The award recognizes and takes into consideration the following criteria: hospitality and communication demonstrated towards their peers, accuracy and timeliness of statistics, social media development and growth and any additional awards received with in the industry.
