Mary Kelly Mulcahy Wins Athlete of the Year for Second Consecutive Year

7.2.25

INDIANAPOLIS- After a vote from the league’s Sports Information Directors, Findlay’s Mary Kelly Mulcahy was voted as the Great Midwest Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year. She is just the second student-athlete to win the award in back-to-back years, alongside Carsyn Koch who won in 2016 and 2017.

The award is traditionally presented on an annual level to a nominee based on athletic accomplishments and contributions to their specific sport and the institution’s overall athletic program.

Mulcahy picked right back up where she left off in 2024 with yet another outstanding 2025 season. She earned her fourth consecutive Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) all-American honor, East Region selection, and G-MAC selection. Mulcahy won her third Great Midwest Player of the Year award and was a Team USA Palmer Cup selection for the second consecutive year.

The Lima, Ohio native led the Oilers to their eighth consecutive G-MAC title after setting the conference 36-hole scoring record with 136. Mulcahy and the Oilers then went on to earn a fifth place team finish at the NCAA DII National Championship.

In addition to setting the 36-hole record, Mulcahy tied the UF and G-MAC single scoring average at 71.71. She also set the program and conference career scoring average (73.06), 18-hole scoring record (64), and 54-hole scoring record (205).

Mulcahy ended the 2025 season winning the highest-conference honor as the Collegiate Achievement Award winner.
