Women's Golf Finishes Runner-Up at NCAA East Regional | Punches Ticket to National Championship 5.7.25 By: University of Findlay Athletics Allendale, Mich.- The University of Findlay women's golf team qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship with a second place finish at the NCAA Division II East Regional on Wednesday, May 7. The event was held at the 6,099-yard, par-72 Meadows Golf Course, where the Oilers turned in rounds of 296 (+8), 296 (+8), and 299 (+11) for a 54-hole total of 891 (+27). They finished eleven strokes behind host and tenth-ranked Grand Valley State. Sophomore Ashleigh Duflo headlined the event for the Orange and Black winning her first career tournament. The Ada, Mich. native is just the third women's golfer to win the event joining former standout Gabby Woods and current teammate Mary Kelly Mulcahy. Duflo carded rounds of 71 (-1), 71 (-1), and 74 (+2), clinching the win with an eight-foot putt on the final hole to edge out Grand Valley State's Charlotte Goersch by one stroke. Her 54-hole score of 216 (E) is the tenth lowest in program history. Senior Mary Kelly Mulcahy finished in a tie for ninth with rounds of 75 (+3), 77 (+5), and 73 (+1). With this result, M.K. Mulcahy has now placed in the top-10 in five of the six tournaments played this spring. Junior Ellie Yeazell continues her solid play for the Orange and Black, this week finishing in a tie for 11th.
