INDIANAPOLIS—After winning leading the Oilers to their seventh consecutive Great Midwest title, Mary Kelly Mulcahy headlines the women’s golf awards as the 2025 Golfer of the Year. This is the second consecutive year Mulcahy has been voted the top golfer in the league. Tiffin’s Laura Goetz was voted as the top freshman for the 2024-25 season.
Mulcahy had yet another outstanding season, ranking as the second-best golfer in Division II. She earned Medalist honors at the conference championship, firing rounds of 67-69-69 to finish 205 (-8). She finished the season with an adjusted scoring average of 71, including three individual wins and seven finished in the top three. The Lima, Ohio native qualified for the Palmer cup for the second straight season as the only non-division I athlete. Mulcahy also exceled in the classroom, garnering the conferences Elite 26 Award for academic excellence.
In addition to Mulcahy, Coach of the Year Dom Guarnieri landed three additional student-athletes on the all-conference list including Erin Mulcahy, Ashleigh Duflo, and Hayley Dye. Guarnieri led the Oilers to a second place finish at the East Regional championship and a fifth place finish at nationals.
Tiffin’s Laura Goetz was voted by coaches as the Freshman of the Year, following a top-five finish at the conference championship. She is ranked 37
th in the nation with two top 10 finishes during the spring season. During her collegiate debut, Goetz averaged a score of 77.4.
Great Midwest women’s golf programs were well-represented on the national stage with Findlay, Tiffin, Ashland, and Ohio Dominican all qualifying for the regional event.
