Boulder City, Nev.- The University of Findlay women's golf team, ranked fifth in the country according to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), concluded the stroke play portion of the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championship, which is being held at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, near Las Vegas. Starting the day in fifth, the Oilers ended the day in fourth in the team standings after a round of 279 (-9). Their 54-hole score of 852 (-12) is the best three-round score in program history.

Most importantly, Findlay has secured its place in the top eight, earning a trip to the medal match play portion of the event for the sixth consecutive year. This year's top eight was the most closely contested in event history, with just 18 strokes separating first and eighth place, making it the most competitive field to date. Findlay and Dallas Baptist, which finished first in stroke play, are the only two programs in the country to have earned a trip to medal match play each year since the format was initiated in 2019.

Senior Mary Kelly Mulcahy, who has led the team all season, once again set the pace in her final tournament wearing the Orange and Black. She tied for seventh place with impressive rounds of 72 (E), 70 (-2), and 68 (-4), finishing with a 54-hole total of 210 (-6), the fourth-lowest score in program history.

Competing in her first-ever national tournament, junior Ellie Yeazell has quickly emerged as a key contributor for the Oilers heading into medal match play. After opening with a 77 (+5), she bounced back with consecutive rounds of 68 (-4) to finish at three-under par and tied for 13th overall.

Sophomore Ashleigh Duflo turned in a strong performance, finishing tied for 25th overall. With rounds of 69 (-3), 76 (+4), and 70 (-2), she closed stroke play at one-under par.

Senior Erin Mulcahy delivered a steady performance, posting rounds of 73 (+1), 71 (-1), and 73 (+1). She finished at one-over par, tying for 32nd place.

Junior Hayley Dye rounded out the lineup for Findlay, recording rounds of 74 (+2), 78 (+6), and 79 (+7). She finished at 15-over par, placing 86th overall.

Comments from the Players
Mary Kelly Mulcahy (Sr.)- Lima, Ohio
- This is the fourth time you have played in the medal match play portion of the National Championship, how do you draw on your experience going into tomorrow?
I think experience gives you confidence. It is just controlling what you can and knowing that you have been here before.
- Do you have a different mentality when you play medal match play versus just stroke play?
I know you're not supposed to but I kind of do. I just try focusing on myself. I think it can be hard sometimes because you're play against someone else but if you can focus on yourself and playing your game, then it is going to be good enough at the end of the day.

Ellie Yeazell (Jr.)- West Chester, Ohio
- Your first National Championship and you finish tied for 13th, talk about the process it took to get to this point.
It took a lot of hard work, a lot of hours of practice. Coming into my first season here on the team at Findlay, I really didn't know what to expect. I grew a lot over the winter and I am just really excited for what has happened this season.
- Back-to-back 68s, it's now time to reset. How do you use that as confidence going into medal match play?
It is really easy for me to focus on the positives. I now know what I can do and I am excited to see what tomorrow looks like.

Comments from Head Coach Dominic Guarnieri
- This is your sixth time making the medal match play portion of the National Championship. What does it take to finish in the top-eight?
Consistency for one. I mean, at this level, you can't have any rounds that you kind of stumble. We just do what we do all year, we don't really change anything from August to May. We put in the same amount of time, day in and day out, and being consistent.
- What is your message to the team going into tomorrow?
Nothing changes. I told them after their round today, we get better everyday. We've gotten better from the first round to the second round to the third round and we're going to get better tomorrow too.
