Findlay Captures Sixth Presidents' Cup

INDIANAPOLIS- For the sixth time since joining the Great Midwest, The University of Findlay has captured the Presidents’ Cup for the 2024-25 academic year.
 
The Oilers received the max points in five sports including men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men’s basketball, women’s tennis, and women’s golf. Findlay competes in 21 of the 26 championship sports the Great Midwest sponsors. Of those 21 sports, the Oilers finished in the top half of the standings in 20 sports, combining for 194.5 total points to earn their sixth Presidents’ Cup.
 
Findlay edged runner-up Ashland by 12.5 points. The Eagles were the top-point getters in women’s soccer, football, women’s indoor track & field, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s outdoor track & field.
 
Tiffin University comes in third place with 157.5 points with regular season championships in men’s soccer, men’s indoor track & field, men’s tennis, wrestling, and softball.
 
Rounding out the top five is Hillsdale with 137.5 points followed by Northwood with 136 points.
 
The scoring is based on performance in the regular season for sports that play a team schedule and for championship results for sports that have individual components that contribute to a team score.
 
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Presidents’ Cup is awarded to the member institution that has the highest score for sports sponsored within the Great Midwest. Points shall be awarded based on winning percentage in regular season standings for those team sports with a conference schedule and standings. Points shall be awarded based on results of the championship meet for those sports without a regular season conference schedule.
