INDIANAPOLIS—Mary Kelly Mulcahy of Findlay has earned the Great Midwest Athletic Conference highest honor. Mulcahy, one of the nation’s top golf student-athletes, will be recognized at the conference’s annual awards banquet on Tuesday, May 20.
Mulcahy, a native of Lima, Ohio , is a four-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-America Scholar. She has led the Oilers to four straight national championship appearances and was a member of the 2022 National Championship team.
The senior MBA student was a two-time Team USA selection for the Arnold Palmer Cup. Mulcahy was selected as the only non-division one student-athlete to represent the United States at the event. She also qualified for the 2024 British Amateur as well as the 2024 LPGA Dana Open Qualifier.
During the 2023-24 season, Mulcahy was named the Division II National Player of the Year after leading the Oilers to their third East Regional title.
“MK will go down as one of U of F's all time finest student athletes. Her success is rare and the way she carries herself everyday will serve her well after her collegiate career,” said University of Findlay Athletic Director Jim Givens. “Everyone associated with Mary Kelly is a better student athlete and more importantly a better person. That is the highest praise there is."
Off the golf course, Mary Kelly has been heavily involved not only in the Findlay community but also in her hometown of Lima. She has offered tutoring to elementary school children during her summers and has also dedicated time at St. Luke’s Lutheran in Lima. In the Findlay community, she has assisted with Helping Hands Food drive as well as the Chopin Hall Food Pantry.
