The first regular-season U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor track and field rating index for NCAA Division II for 2025 was revealed on Tuesday (April 8) morning, and Ashland University's women's team has climbed into the No. 11 spot.
Leading all Great Midwest Athletic Conference women's teams in the index with 148.13 points, the Eagles' top point earners are:
- Sophomore Molly Winner in the hammer throw (second in D-II, 61.14 meters/200-feet-7, 31.67 points).
- Winner in the shot put (sixth in D-II, 15.01 meters/49-feet-3, 21.55 points).
- Junior Abby Wheeler in the high jump (sixth in D-II, 1.72 meters/5-feet-7¾, 21.27 points).
- Junior Jade Avance in the 800-meter run (seventh in D-II, 2:07.38, 19.29 points).
- The 4x100 relay team of sophomores Odessa Smith and Brianna Chenevey, senior Greta Barker and sophomore Hailey Rios (11th in D-II, 45.76 seconds, 10.83 points).
Ashland's women and men are splitting off into three meets this weekend – the Lee University Fast Break Athletics Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 11-12), and the Lenoir-Rhyne Southside Power and Fitness Invitational and Mount Union's John Homon Open on Saturday and Sunday (April 12-13).
