ASHLAND, Ohio - The stage is set from Ashland University for yet another memorable Great Midwest Athletic (G-MAC) Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 13 institutions will gear up to compete in the excitement beginning on Wednesday, April 30.
Those partaking in the competition will look to improve upon provisional standards, while also potentially locking in a spot to compete in the NCAA Division II Championships. However, the main goal is to be named a G-MAC champion, either individually or as a team.
The top two finishers in each event will automatically earn all-conference honors. The top overall scorer of the meet will be named Track and Field Athlete of the Meet, and the highest-scoring freshman will be recognized as the Freshman of the Meet. Both of these apply to both men and women as honorees.
When making the trip down south to Ashland, the Findlay Oilers will prepare to defend their outdoor championships from last year's campaign. Both the Oiler men and women were able to secure the 2024 G-MAC Outdoor Track and Field championships. In 2024, they were dominant and remained among the teams to beat heading into this year's championships.
The Tiffin Dragons, Hillsdale Chargers, and Ashland Eagles are teams to be on the lookout for on the men’s side, as they all fell just short last season. Ashland, competing on their home track, will have that extra advantage with track familiarity.
In the 2025 indoor championships, each of these teams put up an exceptional showing and will look to only grow upon their efforts outdoors.
When looking at the national rankings, the conference sports two on the men’s side. Those teams are Ashland at No. 20 and Hillsdale at No. 22. For the women, Findlay is slotted No. 9 and Ashland sits at No. 18.
