Davenport Student-Athletes Headline STUNT Awards

ASHLAND, Ohio- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference and Ashland University is set to host the league’s third STUNT conference championship on Saturday, March 29. The championship will take place at Kates Gymnasium located on the campus of Ashland University and will feature four teams within the conference.
 
In addition to Ashland, Malone, and Tiffin who participated in last year’s championship. Davenport will also make their way to Ashland.
 
The Panthers from Davenport are league’s leader, capturing the regular season title earlier this season.
 
Davenport is led by Player of the Year in Abby Rossow. Coaches voted Rossow the Player of the Year after leading the league with an average power ranking of 71.76 during the regular season. The sophomore has also garnered three athlete of the week honors this season. The Shelby Township, Michigan native earned a spot on the first team all-conference list in addition to teammates Emily Ball, Tenley Brown, and Chandler Walthall. Also from Davenport is the Freshman of the Year in Trinity Brumfield. As a freshman, she has been awarded Jumps and Tumbler Star of the Game and has racked up a 39.35 average power ranking. Her 39.35 average is ranked eighth in the conference standings.
 
Ashland’s Denise Farnsworth was voted G-MAC Coach of the Year for the second time in the past three years. Farnsworth led the Eagles to 20-6 overall record and the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Farnsworth landed two student-athletes on the first team all-conference list, including Alyssa McLaughlin and Kylie Adams. Also from Ashland is the Elite 26 Award winner in Mya Bowles. Bowles, for the second year in a row, was recognized for earning the highest cumulative GPA among her peers.
 
Rounding out the first-team is Tiffin’s Kaiah Hicks. Hicks has taken the mat 389 times during the regular season, the most in Tiffin program history. She registered a team-high power ranking at 29.19, which ranks in the top 20 in the conference.
