INDIANAPOLIS—The Great Midwest Athletic Conference released an update of the President’s Cup standings heading into the spring championship season. The University of Findlay leads the race 5.5 points ahead of second-place Ashland.
The Oilers had a successful winter season with men’s basketball winning the regular season title to add 12 points to their total. Both men’s and women’s swimming & diving found themselves earning a first-place finish at the conference championship meet. The men took home their eighth consecutive title, while the women hoisted the championship trophy for the third straight year. The Oilers head into the spring with 110.0 points.
Ashland remains in second place with 104.5 points. The Eagles had another successful winter season with women’s basketball capturing their fourth consecutive regular season title and women’s indoor track & field winning back-to-back championships.
Hillsdale falls behind Ashland with 81.0 points followed by Tiffin with 73.0 points.
The President’s Cup is awarded to the institution that collects the highest tally of points based on regular season winning percentage (standings) or individual meet results (sports with no conference regular season schedule) through the completed spring championship season.
