The Great Midwest volleyball teams entered week nine of play on Tuesday, Oct. 28.  Walsh, Findlay and Cedarville remain at the top of their respective divisions.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:
  • The Walsh Cavaliers earned a road victory against the California Pa. Vulcans on Tuesday, Oct. 28.  The Cavaliers won 3-1 with a hitting percentage of .217 and five aces against the Vulcan’s .171 percentage and two aces.  Leading the charge was Cavaliers Kameron Stover, who recorded 26 kills, four aces and 21 digs.
  • The Hillsdale Chargers swept the Ursuline Arrows in a final score of 3-0.  Leading the defensive effort was Chargers Chloe Pierce with ten digs and two aces.  Tailing behind her was Chargers Josie TeSlaa with 24 assists and six digs.
  • On Friday, Oct. 31 the Hillsdale Chargers found their third consecutive win against the Ashland Eagles with a final score of 3-0.  They outhit the Eagles .300 to .048 with 38 kills to the Eagles 26 and eight blocks to the Eagles two.  Leading the charge was Chargers Jenna Southland with .750 hitting percentage and 12 kills to lead the offensive side; additionally, she found six total blocks and three aces.
  • On Saturday, Nov. 1 the Ohio Dominican Panthers swept the Thomas More Saints, 3-0.  This allowed the Panthers to earn their 20th win of the season, continuing to dominate nearly every statistical category excluding service aces; additionally, Panthers Ashley Aselage reached a major career milestone surpassing 1,000 career kills as a Panther.
  • On Sunday, Nov. 2 the Northwood Timberwolves defeated the Lake Erie Storm in a clean sweep of 3-0 to conclude their 3-0 weekend.  Throughout this matchup, the Timberwolves biggest lead was 12 in the third set before winning 25-14 to conclude the game.  Performing at the top was Mackenzie Scheid with nine kills and a career-high five aces.
